And he brought some friends with him.

Over thirty to be exact… and they brought some halloween chex mix to share with Devin’s preschool…

But what those cute little scarecrows don’t know is…
that they are the snack too!

I think the kids will like them… don’t you?
If you’d like a kitchen full of scarecrows and halloween chex mix just click on the names to see how to make them :)
You know what I’m referring to… from THIS post. I’m turning into one of THOSE Mommies. Well, I’ve kinda always been partially one of them… just not as Stepford wife-ish. Since I found out a few weeks ago that Devin was going to have his same teacher from last year, I’ve pretty much stalked her on facebook to make sure she put me down as room mom before anyone else could beat me to the punch.

And if that isn’t enough… tomorrow is Devin’s first day of taking snack for the class. I can’t just send in goldfish crackers or pretzels like all the other Moms do. I must OVERDO. So tonight I made Devin’s favorite snack- chocolate dipped pretzel sticks complete with sprinkles. He actually calls them Sprinkle Sticks :) I really LOVE doing these sorts of things… but I’m sure it sometimes comes across like I’m being one of those Mommies. So to set the record straight and let you all in on the behind the scenes of sorts, let me tell you what happened after I got home from getting the supplies for the Sprinkle Sticks.
David and I were unloading all the groceries and Devin found the bag of pretzel rods I was going to use to make his snack with. He starts pulling at the bag and as I yell “NO!” at him, he proceeds to drop them on the floor. Now if you have ever dropped a bag of pretzel rods on the floor you know that they all pretty much broke into a million pieces. Me and my OCD self freaked out. Things like this throw me over the edge… it’s sad, I know. But I simply could not have a bag of broken pretzel rods. Long story short… David ended up having to go get more pretzel rods.
So there you have it. I may appear to be one of those Mommies, but I’m most certainly not. I’m a real person, with real faults and even though I manage to send in some cutesy little homemade snacks… I am still just a Mom trying to do a better job at being a Mom each and every day. Some days I get it right, some days I don’t. But I try. And that is all anyone can ask for.
