to be stressed out!

I absolutely LOVE the Christmas season, but it is always so hectic around here.  Mostly because I try to be everything to everybody… and be Martha Stewart too!  I love to bake (as you already know) and I love to entertain at my house- that is after all one of the reasons I wanted a big house (well, because we have ALL these kids too!)  Sometimes though, I can let it overwhelm me.  Luckily I’m not there yet, but it’s coming.  I can already feel it!  I’m trying to be organized and on top of the details so that everything falls into place.

So far, I have:

*planned Devin’s preschool class party and sent out the list of items needed to parents.  That was a big step for me since I usually try to do things all on my own since I’m the control freak room mom.

*made and sent out Makenzie’s 2nd birthday invites :)

*ordered a special made birthday outfit for Makenzie to wear on her big day from my friend Lisa!

*shopped for Christmas… well, some.  I’m no where near done but at least it’s started.

*shopped some for Makenzie’s birthday present- still have a few things to get.

But my to do list is beginning to loom over my head.  I still need to:

*get ladybug themed birthday party items

*make her cake and decorate it like a pro (well… I’m gonna try at least!)

*finish shopping for the kids, and Dave, and Devin’s preschool teacher, and the in-laws, and my mom, and my brother, and Dave’s brother’s family… and lots of other people if we have the funds!!!

*wrap everything.  Ugh.

*get picture of all my kids at once.  I think I’ve gotten ONE since Makenzie has been here.  It’s hard since they are all either coming or going at different times :(

*make food for Makenzie’s party since I’m serving a light lunch.

*get party favors for the kids

*finish the bow and tutu orders I have and mail them out.

*NOT gain weight with all these great foods that are around this time of year…

*clean house.  Ugh.  Not to mention the other daily chores I must do to keep this house running.  It’s all never ending!

And I’m sure that’s not even the complete list!!  I’m sure everything will fall into place but it’d sure be nice to have an assistant like Marta Stewart does.  Then maybe I could actually achieve her status… ;)
